Drifteen Finally came to life on Sunday the 29th October.

This was inspired by an event my Dad (Tim Fastnedge) was a key part in. ‘Jump Start – the experience of being alive’ which had 50 memebers from canteen and FYD skydive from the ramp of an RNZAF C130 Hercules.  Not quite as crazy as jumping out of a Air Force plane, but I took 20 teens from Canteen Aotearoa drifting! Down at Sky Zhao home for Drift academy.

Meeting each of these amazing people, hearing some of their stories, and just seeing the smiles after coming out with me, man the feeling that gave me is just crazy!  Some were nervous after getting into the passenger seat, some told me to send it and do backies 😂
The appreciation from these teens, and from their parents and canteen staff made me feel like I’d finally made some sort of an impact!

Huge shout out to my crew and team we had down to help keep the car going and help with set up etc and Warren Sare for being on the mic (MC) !

Our Drifteen Crew – special thanks to –

Big shout out to Pokeno Volunteer Fire Brigade for having a fire truck on site just to be safe!
Massive thank you to the sponsor companies that were involved with the event, from getting some posters done, T shirts, Race suits and helmets and cars to put on display!
